Fall/tree

So, for those of you who don't know, the word "pinche" is a Spanish expletive.  And here's the story of how we came to call it ours....

My son was in Kindergarten.  We had just moved to New Mexico and were all having a hard time adjusting to everything.  His first real project was a family tree project.  He was to pick a tree that is like our family and draw it on one side of his poster.  On the other side, he was to make our family tree and prepare a little speech to tell the class about his family.  Trying to be a good mommy, I told him we should practice his speech so he wouldn't be embarrassed or nervous.  And so he began...

"My name is Andrew T.  I live with my sister and my mommy at my grandparents house."

Then he PROUDLY (and loudly) announces....

"....and WE ARE A PINCHE FAMILY!!"

Trying to stifle my laughter and a little shock, I asked him what he meant.  He turned his paper around and showed us his PEACH tree.  My mom and I had to calmly explain his error.  I didn't want him to get upset.  He was sooo proud of his speech.

Needless to say, he did very well on his report, and we now have a new family motto.  :)
